The league and county cup programme were reduced to a handful of games by Storm Bert and overnight frost and snow.

But the games which were played were crucial in various divisions with some excellent action on artificial surfaces

The county cup games saw the two remaining L&C teams exit the Manchester Amateur Cup quarter finals with Division One high-flyers Chadderton Cott going down 3-0 hosting Didsbury Villa and Village Manchester Reserves were beaten 5-2 at Hollinwood.

The only game played in the Premier Division saw Salford Vics retain their proud unbeaten record and move four points clear at the top with a hard-earned 3-1 win at Pro United.

Joe AXON was the shooting star for Vics as he netted an impressive hat-trick with Zain BAROUDI getting the deserved Pro Utd consolation.

There was also just one game in Division One and with leaders Chadderton Cott in cup action, AFC Stockport took full advantage to move above them by two points with a massive 13-1 win at Dukinfield Athletic.

AFC were 5-0 up at the break and kept their momentum flowing throughout the second half.

Netting for AFC were Rhys KELLY (three), Jordan CONWAY (two), Luke RUDDEN (three). Joe EATON (four) and Das-Asawo DAPPA.

Division Two was busy with three games, two of which affected the tight promotion race.

Leaders Santos were without a game and Stretford Paddock Reserves took advantage with an impressive 5-2 win at Abacus Media Reserves to move two points clear of Santos.

The Paddock goalscorers were Kristian WALL (three) and Sammy TODIKA (two) with Media’s consolations coming from Sam FITZGERALD and Ben BONNAR.

Rochdalians moved level on points with Santos with a 3-1 win at Konger FC.

After taking an early lead with a clinical finish from Declan BARRY, they stayed in control for victory with goals from Josh CROOK and Lewis ALTIMAS against a spirited and hard-working Konger team who notched a consolation through Jonathan TONG.

The other game in the division was a close contest at Tintwistle Athletic Reserves with the home team ending the recent good run of results by Old StretsGregs with a 3-1 win which moves them out of the bottom two.

Just one game in Division Three and it saw Timperley Villa move out of the bottom two with an excellent 4-0 victory.

The top teams in Division A weren’t in action and two mid-table games brought a 3-1 win for Bury Ams A over Irlam Steel Rangers Reserves with Andre DIXON, Connor NEEDHAM and Joe COUSIL on target with Dylan STANWAY replying for Irlam. The other game was a 1-1 deadlock between Newton Vikings and Fittonhill All-Stars with Stephen HILTON bagging the point for Vikings.

Division B was totally wiped out and fixtures secretary Malc Kershaw will hope for better weather in the coming week.
