Another Lancashire & Cheshire League season began on Saturday for clubs with teams in the Premier and Division One.
Rochdalians Start the New Season as they Finished the Last
In the Premier Division, current League Champions Rochdalians took a 2-0 win against last year’s runners-up High Lane.
Newly promoted Dom Doyle found life a little tougher in the top division going down 4-3 away at Abacus Media.
With their ground unavailable, South Manchester switched their local derby with Whalley Range to 3G but ended up on the losing end of a 4-2 scoreline.
In the other games in the division Waterloo took the points at home to Trafford Utd, hitting four goals with no response from Trafford and Mellor played out a 1-1 draw with Milton.
In Division One, the clash of the newly promoted sides saw Signal Old Boys take a 3-1 win against Urmston Town whilst their new to the division colleagues Newton went down 2-0 at AFC Oldham.
Fresh down from the Premier, Old Stretfordians found themselves on the losing end of a 5-3 scoreline in their match with Chorltonians.
The other two matches in this division, Irlam Tiger versus Swinton and Moston Brook against Bury Amateurs both ended in 3-3 draws.
